Four Types of Social Economy Enterprises
Social enterprise
- An entity certified as prescribed in Article 7 of the Social Enterprise Promotion Act to be the one that pursues social objectives aimed at enhancing the quality of life of community residents by providing vulnerable social groups with social services or job opportunities or by contributing to communities while conducting its business activities, such as the manufacture or sale of goods and services.

Cooperative
- A business entity voluntarily formed, collectively owned and democratically operated by members sharing needs. A social cooperative is a non-profit-driven cooperative, formed to conduct business activities related to improving rights, interests and welfare of community residents or to provide social services or employment to vulnerable social groups.

Community company
- A village-based enterprise established and operated by community residents to solve common regional problems through profit projects using various local resources and effectively realize the interests of the local community through income and job creation.

Self-sufficiency company
- A company operated by one or more welfare recipients or low-income residents in the form of a producer cooperative or joint business, using the skills acquired through self-sufficiency work programs at local self-sufficiency centers.
